Updated: Jun 16, 2021

Boilermakers 11 vs. Conway Land Title 10

The Boilermakers outlasted Conway Land Title’s late comeback, and a roster full of recent acquisitions. Junior Hockey player A.J. Bailey was all over the rink with 5 goals and 2 assists for the Boilers. He was followed by Dean Kelly with 3 goals and 1 assist, Seanna Conway(former NWHL) with an amazing deflection goal and 3 assists, and Team Audi’s Zach Grandstaff with 2 goals and 2 assists. Adam Grady (a former Lake Catholic Hockey player) was formidable in net with a win over Dom Anselmo, as Dom charted his path to the Iron Man goalkeeper Award in his first of 4 consecutive outings. The failed comeback was co-captained by Neil Conway (4 goals and 3 assists) and Jason Wiess (4 goals 1 assist) with goals and assists added by Mike Williams and John Molenar.

Misfits 8 vs. Painesville Furniture and Carpet 4

The Misfits teased PFC with a relentless dump and chase game. PFC realized things were slipping away in the second period. Jason Wiess and Garret Sadler had a hat trick each for the Misfits. Add an assist by Emily Wiess, an assist and hustle from Kris Wiess, Matt Wiess and Adam Dudziak for a formula for success. PFC found themselves back peddling, but with moments of brilliance by Derek Pixley and Craig Jackson scoring 2 goals each, and assists by Kevin Miles, Tony Parenti and Mike Ingenthorn.

Avery International 8 vs. Deck Rescue 6

Jeremy Letterman found the back of the net 4 times to make the difference for Avery over a never-say-die Deck Rescue squad.

Nick Larkin chimed in with 4 points—Jeff Burhenne 2 points—and Mike Penney 1 point for the win. For Deck Rescue Alan Reader nailed down a hat trick, 3 points for Mike Garam, and 2 points each for Rick Dunham and Chris Simon. Dom Anselmo caught a second wind and stopped enough rubber for another win over Justin Ropos in the crease.

Westcor 9 vs. Zero Pucks Given 7

Westcor pulled off a stunning comeback when John Kuzniar (1), Brian Przybyszewski(1), and Mark Abraham(2) added four consecutive goals in the last 2 minutes to turn the tables, as the clock ran out for ZPG. Iron man Dom Anselmo also took home his third win in four consecutive games. Add some points by husband and wife team Michael Timms (1 goal 1 assist) and Sarah Timms (1 assist) and you have the formula for first place in the league. For ZPG Brendan Moreau tops the chart with a hat trick, followed by a stunning goal by Tristan Bly from Dad Brian Bly. Greg Crissman added 2 goals, and a rocket from Justin Szucs another. The two goal lead late in the third period however, was an illusion, as Westcor’s late rally stold the show.
