Championship-Winter 2017

Runner Up

ZPG/PFC 10 Free Agents 4

The combined ZPG/PFC ensemble showed their goal scoring prowess despite rain in the 2nd and 3rdperiods. Grayson Sieg replaced their shooter tutor in goal, allowing the victors to out distance the challengers. Points came from Brendan Moreau(6), Tony Parenti (3), and Mike Ingenthron (5), with Mike Cottos changing from netminder to player on the fly—announcing his presence with a rocket into the net, then later an assist. For the Free Agents goalie Mike Thompson’s replacement of their shooter tooter created a margin too much to overcome, despite 2 goals by Nick Laudato, 2 assists by Virgil Lanning, 1 goal and 1 assist by Scott Revall, and a late rocket by Mike Williams finding its way into the back of the net. The win in goal to Grayson Sieg with the Free Agents requiring their shooter tutor to attend Conway Goaltending School before returning.

Westcor 10 Avery 4

Westcor came ready. They jumped into an early lead with steady pressure from every nook and cranny. Captain Brian Przybyszewski topped the point chart with 5 goals—2 late in the third period to seal the deal and quash a late Avery rally. Dom Anselmo followed with a hat trick and 1 assist, John Kuzniar with 2 goals and 3 assists, and Kim Piszczor and Mark Abraham with assists. For Avery Varen Hutchinson had 2 goals and 1 assist, Sam Tovissi 1 goal and 2 assists, and Nick Larkin 1 goal and 1 assist. A pivotal battle in net tipped in favor of Mike Thompson for Westcor over a never-say-die performance from Grayson Sieg for Avery.

Thanks to great officiating by collegiate 2 sport athlete Liam Conway
